Some of my very most treasured friendships in the entire world have blossomed out of this business.
When someone forwards us the privilege to photograph them, we truly want to know them. Yes, I am aware that this could be a really weird thing for those simply wanting "pictures". But what we do is more than just photography. We see things about you and your family that you may not ever get to see on your own. We want to show you what the love in your family looks like. It's precious and lovely. Fleeting moments in life and relationships...that's what we do.
So here we have the Crouch Family. The day we met started a beautiful friendship. I grabbed ahold of them and resolved to never let go. What a big, bold light all of them are in my life and have been since our very first planning session 3 years ago.
Thank you, Crouchs for trusting me with the milestones your family experiences. Love you all!
It gets me e v e r y t i m e. We can do creative, we can do big productions. We can do couches in fields, beds on beaches and even hanging from trees. We can do Urban. We can do Rustic. But the one thing we do that gets me every time...without fail....is a session at home. An everyday, playing around the house, hanging out, easy, laid back kinda session. The type of session where you think, "hmph. Yep. This is us."
It really is that simple. And lovely.
And maybe in that order...possibly reversed order. He wears big bold colors confidently. He plays tennis like a wild man and has a shoe collection that puts anything my poor closet has to offer to shame. I love his eclecticism. (and his hair). (and how it looks like he's playing the guitar on his tennis racket).
Meet my friends, the Bales. They are amazing on many levels. I wish you could taste a little slice of what is grown in the garden they are working in here...oh.my. She's a crafty little canner, among all other Proverbs 31 womanly things. Blessed to call her friend.
She sent me a picture of one of their sunflower fields and well....the rest is history.
This session was on their farm...or all over their farm I should say. :)
What a big boy!!!! He's for sure an early developer. During the session, I laid down in the floor with him and he crawled to me...as in...for the first time ever. CAN'T WAIT to show you the video of it. What a little punky.
I love this kid. I love his momma....and love all things this family. Grateful!
