That seems to be the over riding theme with this family. They are creative, musically talented lovers of concerts, the Avett Bros and having a really good time. We wanted to create something a little different than what we've done in the past, so we went with the theme that speaks to their heart...music.

I love their free spirit. They're wild, crazy and laid back all at the same time. Crazy cool family and a barrel of laughs.

I simply canNOT get enough of her eyes....her freckles....her smile....her sweet spirit. And can we talk about the attitude she is showing with this dog near the bottom? C R A C K S me up. 

Such a great, great family. They're solid. Love being around strong families like them. 

Don't you love meeting fun and funny people? Joking, laughing and being silly...I'm a firm believer it's what keeps us young. Love this family for all those reasons and more. They are super fly stylin' this session up at their home in my favorite neighborhood in Johnson City...The Gump Addition. Charming neighborhood, filled with character and with this family....enough humor for at least a few blocks. Good people...I'm grateful to have gotten to know them a little.  

Between the client's clothing selections and the colors in the surroundings of this location, this session wows me. I love the vibrancy, the textures and all those happy smiling peeps!

Do you remember the show Family Ties? Alex P. Keaton? Anyone? No? 

Not sure why that's the first thing that popped in my head when I was looking at this session, but it is. I'm afraid to say what I remember about the show because the older I get, when I go back and watch things that I once deemed as appropriate and wholesome to watch, seem very inappro-pro even for today's culture. It's interesting to see how tv shows subliminally shape our minds. Wow...it's getting deep over here...I was MERELY trying to elude to the idea of "preppy, all american, wholesome, real". That's what the memory of Family Ties is for me. Moving away from this ridiculous web I keep weaving.... ((did you really come here to read or just to see pretty pictures?)) :) 

This family is so, so great to work with. I love photographing and getting to know families who have a creative flare...they see a vision but just need us to pull it together and finish it off for them. Perfect. A winning combo. Collaboration is king in our book.
