Here are my sweet little friends from Cleveland. I loved those curls and cheeks and wagons and hilarious brotherly "love" so eloquently displayed in the 6th image down....my very, very favorite!

Not truly a fair title for this post because you don't get to hear what I heard while I was photographing.

They are smiling in this first image because they saw me crying. ((I know...shocking.)) She wrote a song and her daddy plays the guitar while she sings it. Not just a give me money and buy me awesome cars teenage song, like a real, heartfelt, mature song. The more I talk about it, the more upset you'll be with me for not just recording it and posting it on here. Or maybe I did record it and you'll just have to wait to see it? :)

Spunk, sass and beauty galore!

The room lights up as soon as they walk in. I love being around positive people and they are just a beautiful example of authentic positivity.

Watching these girls feed apples and carrots to horses was a hoot. Wish I had video of the snarls on their faces when their hands were slobbered on. :) Great fun to watch, but I gotta say, I'm not sure I would have gotten as close as they did. We went to a breathtaking farm to do our session....so the equation is beautiful farm + beautiful family + a little spunk + a little sass....throw in some cowboy boots and you've got yourself some fine images, FINE images I say.

Love you, Sassy Sampsons!

Something about this family makes me comfortable. Sounds weird, I know, but their attitude, demeanor and look are sooooo American and comfortable and classic and simple and beautiful and lovely and apple pie-y. :)

I have wanted to do this session for at least 3 years. I've even attempted it other times and it hasn't quite panned out the way I originally saw it in my mind.......until now. As soon as she opened the barn doors and showed me what she had pulled together, I thought I wouldn't be able to hold my camera still from being so excited! It takes a special person to pull off a session as fabulous as this...someone with determination, resources and willingness to say yes to the challenge and headache of pulling it all off....I'm convinced I have the best clients on the planet.
