Sometimes moms are frazzled, sometimes they operate with finesse. This mom definitely, definitely handles a newborn with finesse. I was a little blown away, actually. She just seemed to have it all together emotionally. Her oldest daughter wasn't having a great morning before I got there and she totally didn't freak out about it. It's just super refreshing to meet someone who can handle themselves in a civilized manner through the rigors of everyday life with children. I know first hand it's very easy to unravel...holy moly....especially (ESPECIALLY!!!) when one is throwing a fit and one needs a diaper or to be fed *and* getting ready *and* having everyone look lovely when the photographer arrives? Oy. Props to you, Mrs. Amber. Props to you. I'm impressed. :) Congratulations on your precious little bundle o' love!

I met this couple last year when they were married. She had me come over to photograph her and her husband in their dress and tux. This year, they have a sweet little pickle added to their family and as I watched her with both of them, I was completely overwhelmed with emotion. She is so thankful for her life and for her boys. She has so much love for both of them, so much patience with both of them and such an appreciation for the preciousness of life. I'm blessed to know them...and just as blessed that they trust me to document such a momentous occasion for them.

This family moved to the area to work at BMS. They also happen to go to our church. We started talking one Sunday and discovered they used a photographer in Atlanta that I am familiar with through my online photography connections. That all led to a session with them at BMS during the Christmas season. Very quick, very fun and can't wait to do the next session with them outside in the summer time!

Awesome family...I'm sooo looking forward to getting to know them more. Welcome to the Tri Cities Harvey Family!

here's our last session...he's getting much, much too big!!

So in love with watching families grow. This particular fam is a treasure to me. Our paths have become somewhat intertwined over the last few years and I'm so enjoying getting to know them.

He has an successful chiropractic business here in Johnson City and she does all things whole health and creative. She introduces me to yummy-good-for-me-things like Wildtree and ways to use Agave Nectar AND she does my hair, too. They're both awesomely creative and I love spending time with them creating things....like memories for their family. :)

I met this family a couple of years ago through my husband's company Christmas party. One of the daughters and the dad actually went to Rwanda with Hope 2.2.1. last summer, so, I've had the pleasure and good fortune to get to know them very well over the past year. They are not only tall in stature, but super big in faith and family. We were talking once about different business and leadership books and I will never forget what Dave said...he said, "Yeah, I should probably read those books, but really I just learn what I need from the bible." What a strong statement that was to me! Such a beautiful example.

There was a moment during their ordering session when their son made me cry like a baby...(I know, shocking)...he said, during the photo shoot, when I was taking pictures of his sisters, he couldn't help think of how beautiful they were. Are you serious? I love this family. I want my son to talk that way about my daughter when they grow up! Teach me Dave and Jennifer! Teach me! You're family is incredible and I'm blessed to have been able to document this time in your journey. Thank you for sharing your sweetness with me.

ps...please don't hate me for posting my favorite shot...second to last. ;)
